A Preliminary Discussion on Bogu Pattern of Porcelain

Among all porcelain patterns, the bogu pattern has been used since its emergence in the late Ming Dynasty and widely favored to this day. This paper provides a detailed analysis of the definition, origin, developments, and early content and forms of bogu pattern. Additionally, the article refutes the viewpoint that bogu pattern of porcelain was derived from the Xuanhe Catalogue of Antiquities of the Northern Song Dynasty; instead, it attributes its origin to the paintings of antiquities appreciation prevalent in the mid and late Ming Dynasty, as well as the letter sheets and prints issued in large quantities in the late Ming Dynasty. Based on findings from archaeological discoveries, the paper suggests that the so-called bogu pattern of porcelain prior to the late Ming Dynasty is consistent with Qing Gong paintings of the Song Dynasty in both content and form. By shedding light on the true background and origin of bogu pattern of porcelain, this paper aims to provide a reference for the research and development of porcelain patterns in the modern times.

Socialization and Its Impact on Mental Health during COVID-19

The present study is on how socialization has an influence on the mental health of the people during COVID-19. Two hundred young adults with various occupational backgrounds was randomly chosen for the this study. Small group socialization scale, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) were used to understand the sample’s socialization mental health and perceived stress. The data collected is processed using SPSS software. The results indicated that there is an average level of socialization, moderate perceived stress and absence of psychological illness among the sample. The correlation test implied that there is a significant statistical relation between General health and perceived stress. The results obtained by t-test implied that there is a significant difference between the male and female respondents about socialization and perceived stress, wherein male subjects had greater socialization and female subjects had greater perceived stress.

Development Administration and Challenges of Manufacturing Sector: A Pilot View of Selected Manufacturing Sectors in Enugu State

The manufacturing sector is crucial for Nigeria's economic development. Despite the challenges facing the industry, there is a need for concerted efforts to develop the sector further, the study seek to examine the challenges of development administration in Nigeria with particular reference to the manufacturing sector in Nigeria. The study purposively selected 100 respondents, who have adequate knowledge about the subject matter; the respondents were drawn from five major manufacturing companies in Enugu state. The findings from the study revealed that the manufacturing sector is confronted with numerous challenges which development administration seeks to remedy; they include corruption, poor governance, inadequate infrastructure, poor human capital development, insecurity and dependence on oil. To curb these challenges identified, the study recommended that there is need for Government and other critical actors to provide security for businesses to thrive, provision of infrastructure, stamp out corruption, developing policies, promoting education and training, creating a favorable business environment and supporting Small & Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). Lastly, there should be investment in R&D and the development of a more diversified manufacturing base.

Institutional Collaborative Culture and Task Accomplishment in Universities

This study investigated institutional collaborative culture and task accomplishment in universities. The study adopted the correlational design. The variables of institutional collaborative culture such as teamwork, dynamic support, the delegation of duty, and norms and values were discussed concerning task accomplishment. The study used a target population of 200 which comprised principal officers (office of the Vice Chancellor, Heads of Departments, Bursary Dept., Student Union Government, Estate/Works, Professors, and others) of the Rivers State University and Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Port Harcourt. An instrument titled Institutional Collaborative Culture and Accomplishment of Tasks in Universities in Rivers State Questionnaire (ICCATURSQ) was used to collect data from respondents. The instrument was a modified four-point Likert Scale instrument of Very High Extent (VHE-4), High Extent (HE-3), Low Extent (LE-2), Very Low Extent (VLE-1). The study adopted a stratified sampling technique. A sample size of 110 was used and a total of 100 copies representing 90% were duly completed and returned which was used in the analysis. The Research questions were answered using the mean and standard deviation and the Hypotheses were tested using regression. The study concluded that the identified items of the institutional collaborative culture of teamwork, dynamic support, norms, and values showed a significant relationship with task accomplishment. Whereas delegation of duty showed that there is no significant relationship with task accomplishment. The study thereby recommended among others that management of universities at all levels of operation should encourage teamwork practices by providing adequate support to staff in all angles of operations in the university system.

Socioeconomic Effects of Tourism Revenue Sharing (TRS) on Protected Area-Communities Bordering Bugungu Wildlife Reserve, Buliisa District, Uganda

The paper presents findings on how supporting projects through Tourism Revenue Sharing supports the socioeconomic well-being of communities bordering Bugungu Wildlife Reserve in Buliisa District, western Uganda. Through simple random sampling, some 358 respondents from parishes of Nyamitete, Kakoora, Nyamasoga, Bubwe, Biiso, Kampala A, and Walukuba participated in a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire survey was supplemented by photography to enlist projects supported through the Tourism Revenue Sharing Schemes of the Uganda Wildlife Authority. A total of 23 projects were supported through tourism revenue sharing in the surveyed parishes. Some of the projects were the construction of classroom blocks, distribution of furniture in schools, livelihood support projects, and fencing of schools to stop the intrusion and wild animal attacks. There was an improvement in household income through TRS directly addressing household needs by 79.5% (r = 0.735, P<0.05) and indirectly improving income by 80.5% (r = 0.809, P<0.05) and a significant relationship between the construction of schools and socio-economic wellbeing of communities bordering Bugungu WR (β =.154, P<0.05) was determined. Rarely did TRS support health centers through TRSF and this negatively affected expenditure in terms of income spent by communities bordering Bugungu Wildlife Reserve seeking healthcare services (β = -.088, P<0.05). Communities living around Bugungu Wildlife Reserve should organize themselves into groups to effectively benefit from TRS projects and programs supported by UWA. Uganda Wildlife Authority should support Health Sector-related projects under Tourism revenue sharing around Bugungu Wildlife Reserve.

Codification of Muslim Personal Law in Bangladesh: Problems and Prospects

This paper enlightens us about the inconsistencies of our prevailing Muslim Family Law Ordinance with The Muslim personal Law (Shariat) Application Act and the Shariat by approaching qualitative method of research. In Bangladesh, Muslim Personal laws are under developed. On the other hand, the international developments are prominent. The prime motive of the paper is to scrutiny the anomaly of Muslim Personal Laws. And ultimately the need of a new codified law is felt and also the merits and demerits of such legislation also got a position in this paper.

An Analytical Study on Preventive Detention and Infringement of Human Rights: Bangladesh Perspective

Preventative detention is the most controversial issues of law in Bangladesh. Preventative detention means confinement of somebody without trial and without conviction by a court. The destruction of human rights has started from veritably morning of our evolution. In my paper I would like to show how preventative detention infringes the mortal rights such as rights of a person, liberty of a citizen due to misutilization of preventative detention in Bangladesh and how the right is violated in the course of preventative detention. Eventually it is the right time to stop the abuses of preventative detention in order to cover particular freedom of human being which is the mortal rights of every citizens. It’s also scrutinizes the social stipulation of the preventative detention laws for Bangladesh.
