Abstract

In India, Neem leaves are used in rural and urban areas for poultry to protect against various virus disease. To assess the efficacy of neem leave against Raniikhet disease in Japanese quail, this study is taken and the objective is fixed to analyse the immune response of Neem leaf powder against Ranikhet disease. For this study, a total of 160 day old Namakkal 1 Japanese quail chicks were taken for four treatments with four replicates of 10 chicks each. Basal feed was supplemented with neem leaves powder at 0, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 per cent level from day old to 28 days of age. On 7th day all the birds were vaccinated with RDVF1 strain. To evaluate the effect on neem leaf powder against Ranikhet disease, antibody titre evaluated periodically.  At 14th day after vaccination, it showed no significant changes (log2 value) among the groups.
