Abstract
In this paper, we introduced the diagonal rearrangement method (DRM) for evaluating the determi-nant of a 3 x 3 matrix and also, illustrate the strength of the DRM using both real and complex matrices. In addition, we have established that the DRM is faster than the existing methods for evaluating determinant of a 3 x 3 matrix. Notwithstanding, this method is easy and involves little brain work in usage.
