Abstract

Wireless sensor network is one of the major areas of research in each and every field. Due to this emerging technology its application area is also expanded and researchers shown that it will bring far-reaching impacts on human lives. Convergecast routing has been widely accepted as enabling technology to collect the data from the end nodes to the root node efficiently. Due to sensor’s less battery and memory capabilities, energy conservation has become the main focus of attention. Sensor nodes scalability and mobility directly affects the performance of wireless sensor networks. This paper investigates the effects of static and mobile sensor nodes under converge cast routing in wireless sensor network and nodes scalability effects in terms of QoS parameters like BER, SNIR, Backoff duration, SNR and latency under 600*600 m playground size with 2.4 kHz carrier frequency under the simulative environment.

Keywords: Wireless Sensor Network, Convergecast routing, Routing protocols, OMNeT Simulator, Back off, BER, latency, SNIR, Wise route, Static nodes, node scalability
