Abstract

Standard procedure for better subsurface imaging was applied to eliminate the effect of inter-bed multiples reflection presence on migrated image. These seismic multiple events critically interfere with the primary signal, which also lead to inaccurate velocity picking for migration that contributes in interpretation pitfalls. The input gather was pre-conditioned in times of coherent and other associated unwanted signal removal using radial trace transform. Prior to migration techniques, the normal move out corrected gather is forward transformed in parabolic domain, where the flattened primaries where easily separated from the multiple events. Finite difference migration model was adopted to image dip events, comparison of these images before and after the application of de-multiple tools shows substantial improvement on the data features. It was revealed that the migration result produces quality that can be interpreted with respect to structures that are favourable to hydrocarbon accumulations after the multiples reflection suppression.
