Recommendation Systems have been very helpful in the areas of online shopping and entertainment but little attention has been given to its applications in education. This research is aimed at developing an e-based recommendation system based on collaborative filtering technique that recommends books for different carrier fields such as science, commercial and art classes in the senior secondary schools. The system provides recommendations of the related books according to the examinations syllabi by a means of using students reading histories. The system makes sure that the readers’ satisfactions are greatly increased. The result of the experimental evaluation using some sample students of the selected schools has demonstrated that, the proposed recommendation system could improve the performance of student in different examinations if properly utilised.
