Abstract

In the present investigation, a comparative study between finite difference (FDM) and finite element method (FEM) is made to analyze the effects of Soret, Dufour and Hall current on free-convection flow of incompressible viscous fluid along vertical porous plat plate subjected to a time dependant transpiration velocity and chemical reaction. A magnetic field is applied in the direction of normal to the flow. Governing coupled non linear differential equations are solved by the aid of finite difference and Galerkin finite element methods. A parametric study is made to know the effects of various parameters on flow pattern. The graphical results, which are obtained by using finite element and finite difference methods, are presented and compared. The comparative results showed that Galerkin finite element method is more efficient. The obtained results are good agreement with realistic Physical phenomenon.
