Abstract

One pot synthesis of 12-aryl-8,9,10,12-tetrahydrobenzo[a] xanthen-11-ones has been catalyzed by FeClO4)3/SiO2 via three component cyclocondensation of aldehydes, 2-naphthol and dimedone under solvent-free condition in high yields. Advantages of this work were compared with those of previously reported.
