Abstract

A highly efficient and versatile synthetic approach to the synthesis of some new condensed 2-(6-iodo-4-oxoquinazolin-3(4H)-yl)acetohydrazide viz. 1,2,4-triazolyl- 11, 1,3,4-oxadiazolyl- 8a,b, 9, 1,3,4-thiadiazolyl- 12, and pyrazolylquinazolinone derivatives 13-15 is presented. Moreover, acyclo C-nucleoside 17 were obtained via heterocyclization reaction of 2-(6-iodo-4-oxoquinazolin-3(4H)-yl)acetohydrazide (3) with D-glucono-1,5-lactone. Spectral (IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR) data, and elemental analyses confirmed the structures of the newly synthesized compounds.
