Abstract
Nanocrystalline aromatic polyimide films were prepared by imidization processes from Poly (amic acid) (PAA) of poly (pyromellitic dianhydride-co-4,4'-oxydianiline) (PM). The crystal structure, particle size, chemical structure, morphology, thermal stability, weight loss and optical properties were studied by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), thermogravimetry / differential thermal analysis (TG/DTA) and UV-2300 spectrophotometer respectively. The results revealed the preparation of fully crystalline polyimide with new values of high thermal stability, high energy band gap, high optical and electrical conductivity and low dielectric value. The obtained results suggested the suitability of the prepared polyimide for microelectronic applications.
