Abstract
This work deals with preparation and characterization of modified drugcarrier based on montmorillonite via miniemulsion technique. The prepared materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD), Fourier transformed infrared (FT-IR), and Transmitting electronic microscopic (TEM). A model anti-inflammatory drug, Ibuprofen (IBU), was loaded and the in vitro release profiles were investigated in phosphate buffer saline at PH 7.4 and different time intervals. The data exhibited that the basal spacing of modified montmorillonite increased from 4.41 nm to 4.46 nm. The in vitro release experiments revealed that IBU was released from MMT steadily.
