Abstract

Multipath effect is most prominent in satellite aided communications like those using Global Positioning System (GPS). Uniform theory of diffraction (UTD) is one of the prominent computational methods of Electromagnetics for antenna radiation pattern analysis. In this paper, the three dimensional (3-D) radiation pattern analysis of microwave antenna mounted on rocket shaped structure is carried out using Uniform theory of diffraction (UTD). The results thus obtained are validated with both published and experimental ones. Work may be extendable for vehicles of composite materials etc.

Keywords: Multipath, global positioning system, Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD), electromagnetics, radiation pattern analysis, satellite aided communications
