Abstract

Dissociative excitation of the lead atoms and single-charged ions in e–PbBr2 collisions was studied experimentally. Six cross-sections of dissociative excitation at incident electron energy of 100 eV were measured for PbI and two ones – for PbII. There were five optical excitation functions recorded in 0–100 eV electron energy range. Obtained results are compared with corresponding cross-section data for electron-to-PbCl2 and PbI2 molecule collisions.

Keywords: Lead dibromide, dissociative excitation, lead atom, evaporation temperature, cross-section, optical excitation function
