Abstract

Inelastic collisions of electrons with lead atoms have been investigated using the method of extended crossing beams with recording of optical signal emitted by excited atoms. Fifty excitation cross-sections for transitions originated at 6pnsconfiguration levels as well for four transitions from 6png levels, have been measured at incident electron energy of 50 eV. Nine optical excitation functions (OEFs) have been recorded in the exciting electron energy range of E = 0–200 eV. The resulting findings were used to study the relationship Q = f(n) for six PbI spectral series. The Ai and αi constant values for unperturbed sections in five S series and in one G series are determined.
