Abstract

In this paper, the theory of virtual cathode oscillator and its dependence on the electron beam current density is described. Important factor in determining the electron beam is anode transparency. Transparent anodes have been investigated for foil anodes not grid anodes that are most common. After simulating the grid anodes, we observed that the transparency of the grid anodes is dependent on current density. This dependency is then described.
