Abstract
In this study, the structural and optical properties of CuO thin films have been studied by the chemical spray deposition with thickness (300) nm. The films were deposited on glass substrates using (0.1 M) of cupric acetate precursor at the substrate temperatures of 300, 400 and 500°C. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) attained show that the prepared samples are polycrystalline nature and monoclinic crystal structure. The optical properties such as absorption coefficient (α) was determined using the absorption and transmittance measurement from a UV-vis spectrophotometer, with a range of wavelength (300-1100) nm. Also, the energy gap is calculated for CuO thin films. The result has been shown that the optical energy gap decreases with increasing the substrate temperature.
