Abstract

Artificial intelligent systems and models are advanced techniques that widely used in last decades, especially the fuzzy controllers, which belong to many applications of major challenges and problems; such as load frequency control (LFC). In this paper a new strategy of fuzzy controller called Mirror Fuzzy controller to control the frequency in two thermal areas of a power system was proposed. This method is developed to select the boundaries and shapes for input and output of the fuzzy membership. Particle Swarm Optimization method was used to optimize the controller Performance. A step response with five disturbance cases were implemented comparing with common scald-fuzzy controller of five and seven memberships. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method with respect to the other controllers in multi-load conditions.
