Abstract
Calcinosis cut is caused by abnormal deposits of calcium phosphate in the skin and subcutaneous tissue. It is an uncommon disorder. Calcinosis cutis is a pathological condition of unknown origin and hence is idiopathic. We report a case of idiopathic calcinosis cutis in a 53 year old female which is present over the left buttock. Idiopathic calcinosis cutis is a rare phenomenon which occurs in the absence of any known tissue injury, or systemic metabolic defect. Hence it is important to delinate it.
