Abstract

Talons cusp or dens evaginatus is a rare morphological variation of the tooth, commonly seen on lingual surfaces of maxillary anteriors. Mostly asymptomatic but can sometimes result in functional and aesthetic problems. The aim of this article is to describe the various treatment modalities for such talons cusp. Also several authors in the literature classified talons cusp based on its extension. This article emphasizes on the need for a classification involving the site, shape along with extension of talons cusp which will aid the clinician for better diagnosis and treatment planning.
