Abstract
The objective of the present work was to formulate Aceclofenac Liquisolid compacts to improve dissolution rate. To select suitable solvent for preparing drug solution, solubility of Aceclofenac was determined in various non-volatile solvents. The maximum solubility of Aceclofenac was found to be 87.668±1.101 mg/ml in PEG 400. Two liquid load factors were used, Lf = 0.25 and 0.48 based on flow able liquid retention potential for Aerosil 200 (Ф-value). Evaluation of powder blends showed good micrometrics properties. All Batches of tablets formulation passed the official tests As per Official compendia. Interaction of Drug- polymer was studied using FT-IR, which showed no drug polymer interaction. Prior to the compression of the formulations into tablets, for the suitability of the excipients selected, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was performed which showed compatibility of excipients. From the results of dissolution study it was found that LST-3 with 40% drug concentration and excipients ratio, R=8 showed more than 50% drug release in 5min. Liqui-solid Tablet-1, LST-2 and LST-4 also require the less time to release more than 50% of drug than conventional tablet.
