Abstract

We report a 23-month old male child who sustained multiple adult human bites in the back, under unclear circumstances. We discuss the dangers, complications and management of human bites, and highlight the possibility of an unusual form of child abuse emanating from harmful traditional ritual practices, in this case, multiple adult human bites.

Keywords: Human bite, child abuse, ritual
