Abstract

Sporadic renal angiomyolipoma (AML) concurrently occurring with membranous nephropathy (MN) is a rare finding although various solid organ malignancies are commonly associated with membranous glomerulonephritis. Here we present a rare case of incidentally diagnosed sporadic AML in a fifty-seven year old man presenting with swelling of feet, fatigue, anorexia and significant proteinuria. Histopathology and immunofluoroscence of renal biopsy was consistent with MN. A partial nephrectomy was performed to rule out malignancies. Post surgical gross and microscopic examination along with immunohistochemistry confirmed AML. Nephropathy associated symptoms got alleviated following the nephrectomy. However, the patient failed follow up after a few months of surgery.
