Abstract
This article thoroughly summarizes the Consumer Protection Act CPA 2019, highlighting its crucial role in promoting fair trade, empowering consumers, and ensuring accountability in the pharmaceutical business and beyond.
The article delves into the CPA 2019's basic provisions, providing definitions for important terminology like "consumer," "consumer rights," and "product liability." It addresses the creation and duties of several consumer protection councils at the federal, state, and local levels, emphasizing their tasks as advisory bodies and advocates for consumer rights.
The article also discusses the idea of product liability, explaining the duties of producers, suppliers, and sellers of goods. To ensure a thorough understanding of this vital component of consumer protection, it explores exclusions and obligations in product liability proceedings.
The article concludes by discussing the legal structure surrounding offenses and punishments, particularly the severe consequences of infractions such as deceptive advertising, production and distribution of counterfeit or tainted goods, and noncompliance with orders requiring consumer dispute resolution. It also touches on the protection of activities conducted in good faith by the Act and the compounding of violations.
