Abstract

Tomato plants were subjected to in vitro salinity (0, 100 150 mM NaCl) supplemented with GA3 (0, 1, 2 mg/l) and after 4 weeks some physiological parameters such as internode length, proline content and CAT, APX and SOD activity were measured. Results showed that application of GA increased stem length and proline content significantly. As a general response, GA increased activity of antioxidant enzymes SOD, CAT and APX with some variations. It seemed GA could improve salt tolerance of tomato explants under in vitro culture condition by enhancement of antioxidant system.
