Abstract

Frequency-intensity acoustic spectrums can be generated easily and used as a fingerprint for bird species classification and identification. Such acoustic approach was utilized in the analysis of Brazilian genus Asthenes considering the habitat effect. From acoustic results it was observed some particular characteristics in the spectrums for all Brazilian Asthenes studied. The phylogeny correlation between FIAS results was higher for those species with close statistical occurrences (A. baeri-A. hudsoni and A. luizae-A. moreirae).
