Abstract
Mandibular molars sometimes show anatomical variations in the form of an additional lingual (radix entomolaris) or buccal root (radix paramolaris). The presence of this additional root can cause difficulties during endodontic treatment. An awareness and understanding of this unusual root canal morphology can contribute to the successful outcome of root canal treatment. Root canals are left untreated if the clinician fails to identify their presence leading to endodontic failure. This case report discusses radiographic identification and endodontic management of mandibular molars with radix entomolaris.
