Abstract

Microparticles derived from different cell types after activation or apoptosis have been considered functional in the evaluation of cardiovascular disease. Microparticles exist in the plasma of healthy individuals as well as in patients with different pathologies. A number of studies reported an association between microparticles and different pathological conditions, specifically the connection with the development of cardiovascular diseases. Different lipid-lowering therapies effects have been reported in regard to measurement of microparticles.

Keywords: Microparticles, apoptosis, cardiac, disease, biomarker
