Abstract
Elicitors are molecules that stimulate secondary metabolite product formation in plant cell cultures, thereby reducing the process time to attain high product concentrations and increased culture volumes. The use of polysaccharide type elicitor as a plant growth stimulator is of interest as it is a widely available and generally viewed as a safe material for humans and the environment. In this study, combination of two elicitor; hyaluronic acid (HA9) and N-acetyl-D- glucosamine (NAG) were used on PLB culture of Cymbidium finlaysonianum and Cymbidium dayanum. This study results concluded that the combination treatment of HA and NAG was more effective than single treatment for PLB and shoot formation in C. finlaysonianum and C. dayanum In vitro.
