Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the reproductive and biochemical characteristics of the number of plum varieties from the selection of the experimental station for plums Dryanovo and their suitability in different directions in the food industry. It was conducted from 2016 to 2018. in the collection plum plantation of the Plum Experimental Station  – Dryanovo, Bulgaria. It was studied the reproductive characteristics of plum cultivars, such as ‘Balvanska slava’, ‘Nevena’, ‘Gabrovska’, ‘Strinava’, which were selected in the Dryanovo Plum Experimental Station, Bulgaria. ‘Stanley’ was used as a standard cultivar. During the study period, ‘Balvanska Slava’ had the largest fruits compared to the standard, with a fruit weight (38.07 g.), but with the lowest yield (22,4 kg.). ‘Gabrovska’ and ‘Strinava’ had a lower fruit weight than ‘Stanley’, higher yield and dry matter content, which makes them suitable for industrial processing and distillation. The fruits of the studied cultivars have a stone separating from the fruit flesh and a balanced taste, with high sugar content and dry matter, which makes them suitable for fresh consumption Statistical data processing was performed with ANOVA, Microsoft Excel programs.
