Abstract

An experiment was conducted at Regional Agricultural Research Station, BARI, Rahmatpur, Barishal Bangladesh during the Rabi season of 2020-2021 to minimize the cost of farming in Bangladesh's southern region. T1F1= Conventional tillage (Farmers Practice) Recommended dose, T1F2= Conventional tillage (Farmers Practice) 75 percent of RDF, T1F3= Conventional tillage (Farmers Practice) 125 percent of RDF, T2F1= Power Tiller Operated Seeder Recommended dose, T2F2= Power Tiller Operated Seeder 75 percent of RDF, T2F3= Power Tiller Operated Seeder 125 percent of on December 27, 2020, seeds were seeded in a line sowing method at a seed rate of 12 kg/ha. Unfilled seeds/head, thousand seed weight, seed yield/plot, and yield/ha were found to be significantly affected by the interaction of tillage method and fertilizer dose. The unfilled seeds/head were found to be highest in treatment T1F3 (Conventional tillage 125 percent of RDF combination (188.49 nos) and lowest in treatment (Strip tillage 125 percent of RDF combination (188.49 nos) (62.63 nos). Treatment T2F2, which was a combination of power tiller operated seeder method and 75 percent RDF (65.10 gm), had the highest thousand seed weight, whereas treatment T3F2, which was a combination of strip tillage method and 75 percent RDF, had the lowest (46.90 gm). The treatment combination had a considerable impact on seed yield/plot. The treatment interaction of PTOS method 75 percent of RDF, which was indicated as T2F2 (7.20 kg), yielded the highest seed yield/plot, which was statistically similar to the treatment combination of PTOS method RDF, which was marked as T2F1 (7.20 kg) (7.16 kg). The treatment combination of strip tillage method with 75 percent RDF yielded the lowest seed yield/plot, which was designated as T3F2 (5.34 kg). The overall yield was best in the PTOS method's treatment interaction with 75 percent of RDF, which means T2F2 (1.79 kg/ha) was statistically similar to the PTOS method's treatment interaction with RDF indicated as T2F1 (1.78 kg/ha). The treatment interaction of strip tillage method had the lowest overall yield, with T3F2 (1.32 kg/ha) denoting 75 percent of RDF. Treatment T2F2 could be used for sunflower (BARI Surjomukhi-3) production in the Ganges Tidal Floodplain, both in terms of yield and economics.
