Abstract

A field experiments was carried out at Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marines Sciences, Uthal in year 2013 for exploring the genetic potential of different cultivars of Mungbean under varied nitrogen rates at tropical environments. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with factorial arrangement having three replications and a net plot size of 1.5 m × 2 m comprising 30 cm row to row and 10 cm plant to plant distance. The experiment was comprised of the four mungbean genotype: V1 (NM-2011), V2 (Chakwal-2006), V3 (Azri-2006), V4 (NM-2006) and three nitrogen rates N1 (Control), N2 (20 kg N ha-1) and N3 (40 kg N ha-1). Results showed that nodulation per plant, plant height, seed yield and harvest index was significant differ within each genotypes and vary among different nitrogen rates. Maximum nodulation, plant height and seed yield were observed in V1 (NM-2011) with F3 (40 kg N ha-1) as compared to other treatments.
