Abstract
In this paper, the willingness to pay of the residents and tourists for environmental protection and the influencing factors in Dongqian Lake in Zhejiang province were analyzed by using Contingent Valuation Method. The results shows that the willingness to pay of the tourists and the local residents is from 30.6 to 34.7 Yuan RMB per person every trip and from 377.2 to 455.0 Yuan RMB per person every year, respectively. The amount of compensation that is accepted for the economic activity, which damages the Lake environment but is allowed by local residents, is 461.8 Yuan RMB every year. Applying SPSS19.0 software, the regression analysis shows that the major factor of the willingness to pay of tourists and residents are the incomes, including monthly income and annual household income. They are positively correlated. The higher the income is, the higher willingness to pay is.
