Abstract
This paper explores the relevance of communication in local government governance in Kogi State, Nigeria. The paper tries to establish the fact that there is a positive relationship between communication and good governance. It looks at the communication plan that already exists in local governments in Kogi State. The paper therefore recommends amongst others the setting up of a proper communication department with a professional to manage it and working out a strategic communication plan which should be periodically reviewed.
