CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE BILATERAL EDUCATIONAL AGREEMENTS BETWEEN NIGERIA AND INDIA

Abstract
The speed of globalisation has enhanced the use of information and communication devices as key tools for socioeconomic development. India a leading nation in the use of ICTs is pioneering the education of Nigerians in the use of ICT facilities and materials. Such joint partnership by Nigeria and India has only been achieved through bilateral educational agreements. However, the extent of commitment and implementation of these bilateral agreements remains open to debate and has left a vacuum in the minds of educational stakeholders on the relevance of such agreements. It was therefore important to consider historically, the level of success or failure of the bilateral agreement between India and Nigeria. Based on document analysis, interview and observation, the researcher discovered that the implementation rate of the agreement is low and analysed possible reasons for such. This made the researchers to suggest a way forward as possible strategies to improve on the level of obligation and commitment to the educational agreements between both countries.
