Abstract
Vitasteroids: ixocarpalactone A, isolated from the leaves of Physalis ixocarpa Brot., and 24.25 - epoxyvitanolide D, isolated from the leaves of Physalis angulata L., exhibit a pronounced antiphlogistic effect in experiments on normal experimental animals, inhibiting both exudative and proliferative phases of inflammation. It was defined, caused by the introduction of complete Freund’s adjuvant to animals, and their clear anti-inflammatory effect is combined with an improvement of general biological and immunological indicators of the state of the organism in experiments on rats with chronic adjuvant arthritis. Which we mean a reliable tendency to normalize the content of leukocytes and erythrocytes, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, fibrinogen, blood clotting time, as well as the content of circulating immune complexes in the blood. In terms of their activity in both cases of the conducted experiments, the studied vitasteroids were not inferior to the well-known preparation of the glucocorticosteroid series - prednisolone
