Abstract
In the current study, the antibacterial activity of two plant species namely Parthenium hysterophorus and Hibiscus rosasinensis was tested against four different bacteria. The solvents extract of the leaves of two plant species were tested against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus megaterium, Streptomyces lividans, Pseudomonas putida by agar well diffusion method. Varying range of inhibitory effect was recorded. The highest antibacterial activity was being depicted by the extract of P. hysterophorus followed by H. rosa-sinensis against all bacteria, specifically, P. aeruginosa and B. megaterium were most susceptible when compared to S. lividans and P. putida. The result was significant to exploit novel antibacterial drugs from these medicinal plants.
