Abstract
Since vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizal (VAM) fungi constitute an important component of the soil plant interface, their responses to changes in nutrient availability may mediate shifts in ecosystem function. We tested the initial soil nutrient availability may determine effects of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) additions on the growth and community of VAM. Altogether 15 soil samples of rice-growing fields in around Jamtara district of Jharkhand were collected for their Physico-chemical Characteristics such as pH, EC, OC, N, P and K as well as available VAM. All 15 soil samples spread on Potato Dextrose Agar medium and on the basis of batter response tested with different fertilizer doses on rice crops. A significant correlation was observed between the growth of VAM and rice crops with soil property.
