GREY LEAF SPOT DISEASE IN PLANT: A REVIEW

Abstract

Grey leaf spot is a fungal infection caused by the pathogen, Cercospora zeae-maydis. Moist and humid conditions, low sunlight, poor drainage in the field, and over-crowding of plants can increase the chances of this fungal infection. This bibliometric analysis had been conducted to understand the active authors, organizations, journals, and countries involved in the research domain of “grey leaf spot”.  All published articles related to “grey leaf spot” from “Scopus”, were analyzed using the VOS viewer to develop analysis tables and visualization maps. This article had set the objective to consolidate the literature regarding grey leaf spot and also to find out the trends related to the same. The most active journals in this research domain are Plant disease, Mycologia and Phytopathology. The most active and productive country is the USA and followed by Canada. Pennsylvania State University and Texas A and M Agrilife Research are the organization with the highest co-authorship links. Department of Botany, University of Toronto is the most productive organization with the highest citation and average citations. The most active authors of this research domain are Uddin W and Berger D.K, Dunkle. L.D and Couch. B.C.
