Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the international food safety regulation in the framework of the World Trade Organization and its influence on the domestic legislation of Kazakhstan.
It is shown that the main goal of the mechanism is to reach an agreement between the parties, mutually acceptable for the parties to the dispute and compatibility with the covered agreements is preferred. The dispute-resolution mechanism is not intended to punish the state of the offender, it is aimed to negotiate or to compensate financial loss by means of balancing trade.
