Abstract
A short account of how a new practical electronegativity scale has been derived is provided. Different applications of the new electronegativity scale are described. Simple expressions to calculate internuclear separations of covalent compounds and bond dissociation energies are provided. Examples of calculated values are given and they are shown to give very good agreement with experimental values. Advantages of the proposed electronegativity scale are briefly discussed.
