Abstract
A review of work done for accessing heterosis for grain yield and other contributing traits in rice was taken in this article. More than 20% improvement in grain yield and other contributing traits were found against the standard checks from most of the studied. Further maturity traits were found either earlier or at par against the standard checks their by suggesting the sufficient opportunity for improvement in grain yield and other economically desirable traits.
