Abstract

A pair of embedded explicit hybrid methods is developed for solving oscillatory second order ordinary dierential equations of the form y'' = f(x; y). The pair has algebraic orders six and four. The sixth and the fourth order methods are both zero dissipative. The sixth order method is also being phase-tted. Numerical comparisons show that the new pair is very competitive when compared with FRKN4(3) method.

Keywords: Hybrid methods, second order ordinary differential equations, oscillatory problems
