Abstract
Present paper deals with the experimental investigation of performance and exergy analysis of R404A-R23 cascade refrigeration system. Experiments are carried out by keeping condenser fan speed constant at different values and varying evaporator cabin load from 0 to 200 W for every fan speed. Results show that Coefficient of Performance and exergetic coefficient of performance increases with increase in load whereas decreases with decrease in condenser fan speed. Exergy destruction rates of system increases with decrease in the fan speed whereas with rise in evaporator cabin load exergy destruction decreases. Irreversibility contributions of low temperature cyclecomponents are more at higher fan speeds whereas at low speeds irreversibility contributions of high temperature cycle components are more. Expansion valves, compressors are playing major role in exergy destruction of system. Condenser, cascade condenser are having moderate contributions whereascontribution of evaporator and desuperheater is negligible.
