Abstract

Mobile adhoc network (MANET) is a self-structuring network which does not rely on existing systems and proceeds with the aid of stand-alone infrastructure. In adhoc networks, configuration setup changes dynamically, so that each node in MANET turns as a forwarder and free to move in any direction, as it alters the links to other devices frequently. MANETs require an efficient routing protocols & load balancing techniques for improving network lifetime. The routing protocols should be capable of high packet delivery ratio, quality of service (QoS), minimal end –to- end delay. Routing protocols should be adaptive to the recurrent topology conditions, such as laidback reckoning & preservation, finest and unrestricted path, collision avoidance. While choosing the best possible route, MANET will not consider traffic load and the remaining available buffer size and thus destroys total performance of the network. Hence it is indispensable to study load complementary issues in routing appliance. This paper aims to study the research articles pertaining to load matching research problem in MANETs and present various approaches and the key ideas.

Keywords: Load balancing, congestion aware routing protocols, MANET
