Abstract
In the recent scenario, motivation plays a vital role in every organisation, where employees are overburdened with immense workload. Also, employees find it difficult to manage time as well as their personal lives which further leads to frustration and hence, absenteeism. This situation is seen not only in white collar workers but also in blue collar or assembly line workers. Every employee should be kept motivated in order for him to perform in a specific way. If there is lack of motivation, performance and hence productivity will go down. Employees at all levels of management become frustrated by doing monotonous work each day. Workers at assembly line are expected to be well versed, somewhat qualified and dedicated to their work all at the same time in order to meet the expectations of the organisation. This review paper deals with the motivation of assembly line as put forth by earlier researchers.
