Abstract
Propolis is one of the most valuable apiarian products due to the biopharmaceutical implications. It was widely used in popular medicine, its antimicrobial properties being well known. The aim of this paper was to determine antimicrobial, antioxidant and tyrosinase inhibitory activities of five tinctures that are the most bought in Romania. The results were correlated with total composition of phenols and flavonoids. There was not determined a direct influence between the tinctures alcohol concentration and different biologically activities. The results obtained for antimicrobial and antioxidant properties were interpreted as an expression of different bioactive compounds.
