Abstract
Conservation of the environment has become pertinent as research reports have shown degradation caused by synthetic chemicals. This has led to the crusade of the return to nature. Natural plants are less harmful to human and the environment. This work extracted colorants from the flowers of Langerstroemia fauriei and the bark of Lophira lanceolata as indicators in acid/base titration to serve as substitutes to synthetic indicators which presents adverse effects to human and the environment. Titrimetric analysis was conducted across the types of neutralization reaction and equivalent point readings were recorded and t-test was calculated at 5% level of significance. The results showed that the plant extracts can serve as substitutes to the synthetic indicators as the produced workable values with no significance difference at 5% level of significance with the synthetic indicators.
