Abstract
In this research, the effect of saw dust contents at different replaceable percentages of cement was investigated at the Department of Civil engineering University of Ibadan, Ibadan. The thermal properties of the bricks were determined using portable laboratory thermal testing equipment called KD2 Pro obtained at the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, University of Ibadan. The SH-1needle of diameter 1.3 mm, 30 mm long and 6 mm wide was used to probe the thermal properties of the bricks. Mat Lab R2013a model was used to describe the results of thermal properties obtained. The average thermal properties of the bricks obtained at the 90th curing day were 1.0275 W/m.k, 120.2787 L.cm/N, 1.8646 MJ/KgK, 0.532 mm2/s for Conductivity, Resistivity, Volumetric specific Heat and thermal Diffusivity respectively. Therefore, the thermal conductivity, Resistivity, Volumetric specific Heat and thermal diffusivity were adequate for construction of living rooms for human and animals dwelling.
