Abstract

The pandemic has generated extraordinary turmoil in people’s lives. Not only has the pandemic affected people financially and physically, but it has also severely affected people’s emotional and mental wellness. The evolution of the pandemic and the way we strive to curb the dissemination of the covid 19 virus can have impact on anyone’s wellbeing. Before covid 19, various studies confirmed the correlation between wellness and anxiety. This pandemic has affected human beings on a greater scale especially in terms of emotional, mental, social wellbeing as well as financial stresses. Admittance to psychiatric units were similar in both covid 19 and the Spanish flu. Humanity has faced several pandemics yet not as severe the impact covid 19 had especially in comparison to the Spanish flu. It is imperative to put in place a system that will protect humankind from social, emotional, and financial wellness as another pandemic may repeat itself. During the Covid 19 outbreak in China, the percentage in emotional wellness has dropped tremendously especially those residing close to where the outbreak originated. This points to the fact that the picking up of the disease and the possibility of its harm on a person are both denominators in the decreasing in wellness. A Strong emotional sense was felt due to the heightened amount of information regarding the pandemic. This led to the argument that more information regarding the virus is imperative as it serves as a protection for emotional wellness within a person. Unlike the Spanish flu Covid has proved to be a landmark in the history of mankind. Due to the interconnected economy covid had affected the larger community and devastated it on social and emotional levels. Surviving this pandemic is clearly dependent on people’s durability socially as well as psychologically. The way forward would be to fight Covid 19 on all levels.
